In 1872, the Potgieter family opened a blacksmith shop in Stadskanaal. From this initial venture, they grew along with the rise of automotive mobility. First as a DAF dealer, then a Volvo dealer, and for the past 15 years, an independent car dealership affiliated with Bosch Car Service.
Marcel Groenestein is the operations manager at Autobedrijf Potgieter. The company, located in Stadskanaal, Groningen, believes in quality: "Bosch is the leading parts supplier in the automotive industry and also provides training for our mechanics."
As a Bosch Car Center, they naturally use Bosch quality parts. Marcel: “I've always worked at dealerships. I made the switch five years ago. We provide support for all brands here and have one specialized mechanic per brand or group (Volkswagen/Audi, Toyota, PSA, and Volvo). We also do a lot of gearbox overhauls.”
Fleets and journey registration
In 2017, William Potgieter, the owner, started TrackJack. "It was a very good offer, price-wise. We offer it to our business clients, and we have several permanent fleets that are fully equipped with the trip logging system," says Marcel.
