When the barrier no longer wants to go up

Family business specializing in sun protection, doors, and access control in the Northern Netherlands. In the event of a malfunction, Menze Nijborg sees which van is nearby and what it is currently working on.

journey registration system trackjack vanWe're taking a trip to the far north, to Ten Post in Groningen to be precise. It's a wonderfully peaceful area, but also one with a lot of activity. Because compensation has been made available for people who have been waiting three years for a decision on whether their home is safe, employment is only increasing. Bengs, with their sun blinds, access control, security, and all types of doors, is one of the companies that has been working overtime since then.

"It's absolutely crazy right now," says Menze Nijborg, co-owner and consultant at Bengs, based in Ten Post. "Our clientele is mainly in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe. That's why we can easily drive to everything from Ten Post," Menze continues. "We're really being overwhelmed by the workload. People are happy just to receive a quote."

A very healthy family business

Menze has years of experience in sales at the company he now co-owns. Menze's father started the business with a partner in 2006. He and his mother have since become indispensable to the family business. "You tolerate each other better, you tell your family the truth. Still, things always flow quite smoothly about work, outside of working hours," says Menze.

“People are happy if they even receive a quote.”

Because of his work experience, Menze prefers to see himself as a consultant or account manager. Yet, he also has plenty of other tasks on his plate. Besides a wealth of commercial matters, such as recording jobs and developing proposals, he also manages the company's vans, investments, existing clients, and more.

Work more efficiently with online work orders from OutSmart

About 5 years ago, Bengs launched the Werkbonapp; the way to move away from paper work orders and manage everything online. When it turned out that TrackJack could also be linked to OutSmart , as the company has been known since 2020, the new vans were immediately equipped with the trip registration system.

Menze explains: “Drivers are given a lot of personal responsibility at Bengs. They all have an iPad with both the OutSmart and TrackJack apps installed. With the OutSmart app, they can track and follow up on their jobs, and the planning department knows exactly the status of every assignment. With the TrackJack app, drivers can track their trips and mark them as private where necessary. They are personally responsible for avoiding the tax liability .”

With the OutSmart and TrackJack integration, it is also possible to view the vehicles on the planning board. This allows work to be carried out from a single application.

“Who is nearby in case of a customer outage?”

The planning department makes extensive use of the bus locations on the map. "It's ideal in case of customer disruptions. If a barrier won't lift, we obviously have to get there as quickly as possible. We can see exactly who's nearby and what job they're working on."

Menze concludes: "We're satisfied, including with the service. Now that the connection between OutSmart and TrackJack is fully integrated, everything is running smoothly."
