When you think about changing tires, you think of Profile Tyrecenter. For many, it's a biennial event, but for trucks, it's a completely different story. Tire pressure and tread are crucial factors on the road. Peter de Bruin of Profile Tyrecenter Nooteboom is operationally responsible for five truck locations, all operating under the Nooteboom banner.
Peter has been working at Profile Tyrecenter Nooteboom for almost 15 years . He started as a truck tire fitter and can now be found at five different branches.
The family business started with two locations but now operates in Gouda, Zoetermeer, Leiden, and, since April 2021, also in Vianen and Utrecht. However, few truck tires are changed at these locations. "80 percent of the tires are changed at the customer's premises," says Peter.
Using the GPS tracker
Profile came into contact with TrackJack through Tyrenet Nooteboom, a wholesaler of car accessories. That was in 2019. “They had good experiences with it, and for us it was ideal for keeping track of the fleet. If a customer calls to ask when we'll be there, we can see that immediately. That's service.” Peter himself mainly uses the smartphone app to track the ten vehicles he has now journey registration systems on the map. "But I don't actively do that, only when customers ask for it. I never use it for checking," says Peter.

Profile also offers roadside assistance for business clients through its franchise. If a truck with a flat tire is parked next to the highway, they'll check which branch is closest. Peter explains: "The mechanic on night duty will then go there. Rijkswaterstaat (the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) can then call us to know when we'll be on site. I can see that immediately via the TrackJack app."
The accounting department also uses the GPS trackers for mileage logging. This is easily exported and processed efficiently.
Proactive work and service are paramount
What makes Profile Tyrecenter Nooteboom special is their approach. "We proactively engage with our customers. We don't wait and prefer to always go to the customer." With our unique Fleet Check service, we check around 100.000 tires on-site each year. The results are carefully recorded and discussed. Peter: "If a truck has a flat tire, we're too late. Thanks to our service, we're always on time."
And that our service goes beyond simply visiting a customer is evident from the fleet inspections Nooteboom conducts. "Twice a year, on a Saturday, we visit a client with 300 license plates. We inspect the entire fleet at three different locations, three consecutive Saturdays. We start very early. Breakfast and lunch are provided, and we don't leave until everything is ready," says Peter.
“We work proactively and try to relieve the customer's worries.”
