Security and privacy
Your location data is stored on Dutch servers, and you determine who can see it. If you place a tracker in an employee's car, the GDPR requires a legitimate interest and clear prior agreements. Private trips do not need to be visible; in the portal, you configure what is displayed per user.

How does a GPS tracker work?
The tracker determines its position via satellites and transmits it to TrackJack via Deutsche Telekom's mobile network. In the TrackJack app or the online portal, you can then view the current location, the route traveled, and how long the vehicle was parked at a specific location.
Do I need a SIM card for a GPS tracker?
No, that is already included. The tracker transmits its position via Deutsche Telekom's mobile network. You do not take out a telecom subscription yourself or buy a SIM card: the connection is covered by Service & Support, which you pay for annually.
How accurate is a GPS tracker?
In the open air, a tracker determines its position with an accuracy of a few meters. In a parking garage or between tall buildings, this accuracy may decrease because the satellite signal is weaker there. The last known position is then retained until the signal returns.
Does the tracker also work abroad?
Yes. The tracker works throughout Europe on the same network, without you having to switch anything on or pay extra. If you are driving further away, please contact us. We will then check if the network has coverage there.
Am I allowed to place a GPS tracker in an employee's car?
This is permitted if you have a legitimate interest and inform your employees in advance. Covert tracking is not allowed. Document why you are tracking, who sees the data, and how long you retain it, and ensure that private trips can remain outside the overview.
What happens if my vehicle is stolen?
You can see the vehicle's location in the TrackJack app and pass that location on to the police. Investigations are always handled by the police; TrackJack does not recover vehicles itself. The sooner you report the theft, the greater the chance that the location is still correct.
Can a GPS tracker be jammed?
A jammer can temporarily disrupt the signal. That is why placement is important: the less obvious the tracker is, the smaller the chance that someone will find or block it. With our on-site installation, we select that spot for you.
What is Service & Support?
Service & Support is the annual fee for the 4G connection, the TrackJack app, and the online portal. It is separate from the one-time purchase of the tracker. You pay it annually in advance, and it does not automatically renew: at its end, you choose whether to continue. That is why we do not call it a subscription.
