Why is two-step verification (2FA) becoming mandatory?
Two-step verification is an extra layer of security for your account. Instead of just a password, you enter a unique, temporary security code when logging in. You receive this code on your phone or via email. Should a malicious party obtain your password, they still will not have access to your account without this code.
Why is two-factor authentication becoming mandatory?
Your account contains privacy-sensitive information, such as detailed trip logs, live vehicle locations, and personal data. We take the security of this data extremely seriously. To prevent misuse and data breaches, we will soon make this extra security step mandatory for all users.
How do I set up two-step verification?
Activating two-step verification takes just one minute. This can be done via either the mobile app or your online account on your computer. Turn on two-step verification immediately via your profile data, or follow the steps below:
-
- Log in to your account via the app or the website.
- Go to Administration.
- Click on Account settings.
- Select Change profile details.
- Turn on the two-step verification option.
How does logging in work after activation?
The next time you log in with your email address and password, the system will ask for additional verification. You can choose from two methods:
-
- authenticator appYou generate a code via an app on your phone (such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator). This is the most secure method.
- E-mailYou will immediately receive a unique code in your mailbox.
From when is this mandatory?
The obligation will take effect shortly. However, we advise you not to wait and to secure your account today using the steps above. This will prevent you from unexpectedly being unable to view your trip logs or vehicle details.
