Fuel-efficient driving. It's something every employer and fleet manager strives for. We've compiled a list of seven tips for saving on fuel costs, especially for them.
Limit the number of lease cars
A lease car is often expensive. Besides the purchase price, there are recurring costs for fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc. And not everyone needs a company car. Many (younger) employees are also satisfied with a mobility budget instead of a company car. For example, one day they drive, another day they use public transport, and another day they cycle. Any mobility budget they don't spend is theirs to keep.
Tank smart
Refueling along the highway is convenient for the driver, but it can quickly cost tens of euro cents more per liter of gasoline. A single full tank can save a lot, let alone on an annual basis. Do you have a TrackJack PRO Fiscal Linked to the MoveMove fuel card? Then you'll see your average fuel consumption after every fill-up and compare it to the manufacturer's specifications. This gives you a clear overview of your current status.
Combine rides
If your staff travels across the Netherlands to reach a client's location, it's up to the planning department to map out the most efficient route possible. Try to combine appointments in the area to create the best route.
Reward economical driving behavior
Give employees fuel-efficient driving tips and reward them for their behavior. Or, even better, create a competition and offer attractive prizes for the most fuel-efficient driver. Link the MoveMove fuel card to the fleet management TrackJack software and see who drove the most economically.
Introduce electric cars
A combustion engine consumes a lot of energy. An electric car does not use fuel and is better for the environment. The list price is slightly higher, but due to the low additional tax and subsidy scheme electric cars are becoming increasingly attractive.
Encourage working from home
So far, 2020 has been a year in which many employees are working from home. Working from home offers many advantages. It can save fuel, but it also increases productivity and job satisfaction.
Alternative to unlimited fuel
A company car is often also used privately. If more than 500 km is driven privately, addition to be paid at 22 percent. Some employees feel this is a reason to drive unlimited private kilometers, with the employer paying for fuel.
